Boatshed Yacht Brokers are a social bunch so they seize upon any opportunity to get together. The Boatshed European annual Conference for 2010 was held over looking sailing boats and motor boats in Albufeira Marina at the offices of Boatshed Algarve.

Nearly 40 Yacht Brokers from offices in Spain, Gibraltar, UK, Wales, Scotland and Portugal met for the 2010 Boatshed.com Conference.

A whole range of topics were discussed including yacht broker client accounts, boat photography, Boatshed technology, VAT on second hand boats, customer service and business development.

Guest speakers included Ray Cotton from HMRC who spoke in detail about VAT on boats and how Boatshed can improve clarity and transparency with regard to VAT on the sale of second hand boats.
Tim Reynolds from Verisona Solicitors, International admiralty law specialists, discussed a broad range of subjects covering Brokerage client accounts, BMF contracts and potential new ways that Boatshed will be shaping yacht brokerage in the future.

"These events are not just about improving our systems and educating members of the team, they're also a fantastic opportunity for the Boatshed Business Owners to network, exchange ideas and collaborate on new brokerage techniques. Boatshed business owners are from a whole range of different back grounds, sales, education, engineering, corporate and journalism. A combination of these skills add tremendous value to the Boatshed group."
Neil Chapman founder of Boatshed.com

With over 1000 boats sold last year and brokerage revenues up 70% the group are very excited about a busy and successful 2010.

"In the boat industry you can never afford to be complacent. We are constantly looking to reinvent, reengineer and develop the Boatshed Business, levels of customer service and yacht brokerage."
Says Neil

Plus the Boatshed team like to enjoy themselves, the two day event in Portugal also included a high level of social events including boat trips, Landrover safaris, BBQ's and receptions.
